"But I never spend much time listening to anything in the later years when 1968-1976 have so many amazing things to listen to."

I won't argue with you playing-wise but, durn it!, there's times when I want a Scarlet>Fire, Estimated>Eyes second-set opener.

And, I can't seem to get that unless I am willing to transport beyond your boundaries.

Surely, I'm not the only one who visits "the badlands" for the setlists, am I?

Enjoy,

Do they even have a live show from '65?

And while I'm a true believer in the "'68-'72 was by far the peak" (with 1970 my favorite of all), I didn't get to see shows in person till '76. My years of being a serious show going deadhead ran from '76 to about '82 or so. So I do listen to the '76 to '82 period somewhat but usually just a show I went to or recorded. I basically never play any post '82 stuff. Post '86, Jerry just ain't what he used to be. I can't listen to his singing post '86. His voice was so shot the last ten years. I don't get how anybody really enjoys those years.

Didn't realize we were so similar; I saw them 74-82, and use 71 as my cut off, but we have a surprisingly similar run...

And, midnight, there used to be more around here that stop by the mid 70s or so...

I have NEVER listened to a full set from post 82; and, over the last 30 yrs, I have never listened to a full set from later than 73.

It's opinions like yours that I will one day "get it" when it comes to the later eras. I've downloaded this show from the archive onto my iPod and will listen to it when I walk to work tomorrow.
